Miss Lily
Diane Wood
Three years ago Diane retired from a long career with a Connecticut corporation. Through those many years there was very little time in her life for art. Her husband and she had dreamed of moving to Colorado and this was their opportunity.
In Colorado she began taking workshops and studying art. "What a wonderful feeling to express yourself on canvas." Diane has two mediums, oil and pastels. She admits that she has developed a particular love for pastels. What is really gratifying to her is to capture on canvas a feeling, an expression of the scene, weather, and mood.
Gardening, another love, is creation on the canvas of mother earth; also music is a necessity of life. The evenings are set aside for her piano, another mode of expression.
When you view her work, it is her hope that you experience some of these same feelings.
(Quite recently Diane exhibited and won a Second Place in the "Louisville 2003 Art Show" which had juried artwork from all over the United States.)
