Jean F. Watson
Jean F. Watson has been painting for 35 years. Born in Seattle, Washington, she has lived most of her life in Colorado and raised her family here.
Being born near the ocean and having family roots in Colorado has given her a sense of place in the natural environment. Backpacking in the Colorado mountains takes her back to her roots while rafting rivers keeps her near the water.
In recent years her focus has been watercolor. Using a wet-in-wet technique, she lets the paint suggest shapes to be explored as the painting evolves. She is known for her use of color.
