Afternoon Shadows
Sally L. Fulton - Painter and Teacher - Pastel and Oil
I have been a painter for over twenty years and am inspired by the beauty of nature. Although I began painting in watercolor, I have more recently been working in pastels and oils. Through my work with many fine teachers I have not only learned technique, but to trust in my own vision and to be present with myself in the process of making art. I continue to practice the techniques of pastels and oils to make both abstract and representational art.
I teach pastel classes in my home studio and find it is the perfect medium for beginning art students. Twice a month I volunteer as an art teacher at the Applewood Living Center in Longmont. Watching the development of the artistic talents of my students as they learn new painting techniques and seeing the beautiful work that they produce is one of my greatest joys as an artist.
I support the arts by participation in The Longmont Council of the Arts and the Longmont Artists’ Guild. My art is regularly shown at the Muse Gallery in Longmont and at the Lincoln Gallery in Loveland. I believe creativity is essential to becoming truly human. I hope I will always be on the edge of learning something new about how to express myself through my art. Creating art honestly and expressing beauty is my goal in art, and if it pleases others, I am pleased.
