Chipmunk's Hollow
Karen Berby
My love for painting came to me through of my love for wildlife and the beauty I see in all of nature. I could spend hours looking at the designs of a flower, a small shell on the beach or of an eagle soaring overhead. Capturing small glimpses of this beauty through my art has always been a natural desire for me to express how I see our amazing world.
As an artist I have been basically self taught. Reading books written by a few of my favorite artists, taking a couple drawing and design classes early on, and developing my own style as I go. I went to college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA for Graphic Communications which was more of a technical education in the Graphics world, and had worked in Commercial Arts and Printing for many years after. I was raised in the charming town of Saratoga, CA, and have now live in Boulder, Colorado for over 18 years, where the amazing Rocky Mountains with all of its’ naturally wild beauty, and its’ extensive wildlife are in my back yard. What more inspiration could I ask for?!
